Ch-Ch-Changes

On the way to Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico (temp 107F).

Maybe it's the heat in the desert.

Maybe it's the wind.

Maybe it's road fatigue.

Or maybe it's just time for a change...

In front of Marjerie Glacier, Glacier Bay, Alaska

I've toured about ten thousand miles so far.
And I have reservations for another 90 days on the road... or at least I did until a few minutes ago!

I just cancelled them all!

My heart has been pushing forward, thinking about what changes I'd make if I did "another" long motorcycle tour like this. My brain framed these thoughts in plans for "next year."

You know, next year, I think I'm going to...

But I've decided not to wait until next year.

My heart keeps bringing me back to Alaska. And I have been thinking of spending a year in Alaska. I'd love to experience all four seasons there.

Especially WINTER in Alaska... The short days. The long nights. The cold. The community of people who live through this experience together year in and year out...

I fell in love with Ketchikan last year when I visited there on a cruise, so I want to go back there, and see what it feels like to me now. So, I've booked a 14-day Alaska Explorer cruise in August to check it out!

After a short rest in Santa Rosa (June 27 - July 7), I'm going to start wandering northward towards Seattle for this cruise.

My apologies to the people I was still going to visit this summer, who are in locations I just cancelled! I'll miss you! I really will.

One of the main points of this trip is to follow my heart. So I need to keep it flexible. I hope you understand.

And so the adventure continues...
